Playing abroad and in Greece

Playing in Greece

Only players who live in Greece can play on our .GR platform, which is fully licensed by the Hellenic Gaming Commission. If you're in Greece temporarily, you can’t play on our .GR platform during your stay.

To play in Greece, you need to create a new account on our .GR platform. To do so, press 'Join' in the top-right of any page on our website, then fill in your country and personal details.

To download the .GR version of our software, press this link.

Playing abroad

As a resident of Greece, you can't play on your .GR account while traveling abroad.

More info you should know:

  • If you didn't migrate to PokerStars.GR by June 10th, 2022, your funds were send to the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). Please contact the MGA directly to retrieve your funds.
  • The payment of Player Withholding Tax (PWT) is specific to Greece. If you relocate to another country, you can play on a different license, and the PWT rules won't apply. If you return to Greece and continue to play using your .GR account, these rules will be in force again. For more information, you can check the FAQ page on the topic.
  • Unless you're in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Michigan, you can't play real money games in the US or US territories.
  • If you travel to countries with local online gaming regulations, at all times. You must follow the requirements of that region (e.g., verification process, account validation, etc.).

If you’re moving abroad permanently, let us know via our software, mobile app, or website.
